中分瀚海与耕田，一带平沙细草前。
惟愿君王全盛日，与侬留作小神仙。
注：○君王：译原文“尽教Mahmud王之安享金座耳。”盖彼君王之全盛，尚不足慕，讽其无道之意宛然也。○小神仙：周希陶《重订增广贤文》：“有书真富贵，无事小神仙。”译原文“在其处也，舆台与君王之别尽忘矣。”盖齐物而至于舆台与君王之无别，则其逍遥若小神仙矣。
With me along the strip of Herbage strown
That just divides the desert from the sown,
Where name of Slave and Sultan is forgot—
And Peace to Mahmúd on his golden Throne!
