紫泥杯里泛流霞，待问吾生可有涯？
杯自殷勤来劝我：“君如不饮负韶华”。
注：○流霞：泛言美酒。庾信《卫王赠桑落酒奉答》诗：“愁人坐狭邪，喜得送流霞。”○有涯：《庄子·养生主》：“吾生也有涯。”译原文“吾生之奥旨”。
Then to the Lip of this poor earthen Urn
I lean'd, the Secret of my Life to learn:
And Lip to Lip it murmur'd——"While you live,
"Drink!——for, once dead, you never shall return."
