哀哀念彼下泉人，一闭重泉不见春。
持酒来浇坟上土，滴君愁破乐君身。
注：○下泉：泉下也。王粲《七哀诗》其一：“悟彼下泉人，喟然伤心肝。”○浇坟上土：李贺《浩歌》：“有酒惟浇赵州土。”○原文云：“吾人酹酒于地，酒自涓滴下渗耳。及其涓滴径入下泉久閟人目中，适灭彼愁苦之火也。”译文惟未用火之喻耳。
And not a drop that from our Cups we throw
For Earth to Drink of, but may steal below
To quench the fire of Anguish in some Eye
There hidden—far beneath, and long ago.
